“Marissa’s ability to be both gentle and honest facilitates real transformation in her clients. She is practical, warm and listens deeply.”

❋ Integrative

Marissa draws on multiple approaches, paying equal attention to both where you are and where you want to be.

❋ Culturally Sensitive

The influence of culture on our psyche is something she choose to shine a light on as you begin to uncover pieces of you.

❋ Warm

Clients are her greatest inspiration and she takes joy in seeing the courage they possess as they walk the challenging path of self-discovery.

❋ Relational

She believe that it is not only what we talk about in counseling that is healing, but the relationship we build together.

Marissa is an experienced clinician, specializing in Couples, Childhood Trauma, Parenting, Ethical non monagamy, Identity and more.

Below are some of her qualifications.

Masters of Counseling Psychology

Marissa completed a 3-year graduate program at California Institute of Integral Studies which focused on integrative psychotherapy that honors the whole person - body, mind and spirit.

Narrative Therapy Training

This training taught me to explore the stories we tell about ourselves, especially in therapy, as living, breathing tools. Rather than viewing people as a problem, narrative therapy helps separate you from your story.

Meditation and Yoga Practice

My lifelong somatic practices of meditation and yoga are critical in how I’m able to show up as a therapist in an embodied, grounded, relational and present way.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Training

This evidence based approach helps people understand how relational patterns impact them. It looks at deeper attachment needs beneath conflict and gives space for the expression of needs more clearly.
