Jaron Vesely, ASW #139998
“Jaron has a way of naming what's actually going on, and that's usually what gets things unstuck. He works especially well with men who may look successful from the outside and still feel like something's off underneath.”
❋ Direct
Jaron will likely be more direct than you expect, and warmer than that sounds on paper. He notices the patterns you've stopped noticing and says them out loud. At some point you may hear, "How's that working out for you?"
❋ Respectful of defenses
Jaron treats the walls you've built as intelligent, not as obstacles. They're there for a reason, and he won't rush you to lower them. You decide if and when a guard gets to take a break, even a short one.
❋ Embodied
Jaron tracks the body, not just the story. They'll ask where you feel something, not only what you think about it. Probably more than once.
❋ Familiar with the gap
Jaron came to this work through theater and then a corporate career, both of which run on performance. They know the distance between how something looks and how it feels from the inside, because he's stood in it. That's usually the exact territory Jaron’s clients are in.
Jaron is an experienced clinician, specializing in men's work, burnout, life and identity transitions, trauma, and the gap between outward success and inner alignment.
Below are some of his qualifications.
Masters of Social Work, U Michigan
Clinical training in assessment, trauma, and the systems that shape a person's life, alongside the relational work that actually happens in the room.
PCC, International Coaching Federation (700+ client hours)
Before clinical training, Jaron coached people from individual contributors to C-suite executives. That work sits underneath how he helps you move, not only understand.
Masters in Psychology from Arizona State.
A grounding in how minds and behavior work, worn lightly. It informs the work without turning a session into a lecture.
EMDR and Ego State (Parts Work)
Jaron was trained in two ways of working with trauma and the parts of us that carry it. Jaron's conviction: you don't have to relive something to release it.
FAQ
-
I work primarily with adult men who look successful on paper and feel quietly unmoored underneath: burnout, anxiety, the sense that something's missing even when nothing is obviously wrong, life and identity transitions, and the residue of old trauma. I'm welcoming to people of all genders and identities. If you don't see yourself exactly in that description, reach out anyway and we'll sort out whether I'm the right fit.
-
I draw on EMDR, Ego State (parts) work, somatic inquiry, Non-Violent Communication, Mindful Self-Compassion, and, for some clients, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy. What matters more than the list is bringing the right approach at the right moment. Much of what we carry lives below language, so we don't stay only in talk.
-
$200 for a 50-minute individual session, usually weekly. Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy is structured and priced differently, given the longer sessions and the preparation and integration around them; we'll walk through that on our call. If cost is a real barrier, say so on the consultation and we'll talk it through.
-
I don't bill insurance directly, but I'm glad to provide a superbill you can submit for out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, so it's worth asking your insurer about out-of-network mental health benefits.
-
Both. I see clients virtually across California, and in person in Oakland.
